PRIMARY OFFICE
Our primary office for mediation sessions is at
space rented from a financial professional in
Schaumburg. The office is easily reached from
I-90, I-290, I-355 and IL 53, just off of the
Elgin-O'Hare Expressway. We are three miles
south of the Woodfield shopping area in
Schaumburg. Our office is located between The
Cove Family Restaurant and KinderCare on
Wise Road, and has ample parking directly in
front of the office. This location insures your
privacy and protection.
ADDITIONAL SITES FOR MEDIATION
SESSIONS
The site of your mediation is left entirely up to
you. Meetings can also be held in Elmhurst, the
north side of Chicago, in a library conference
room or, if necessary, in your home.
These additional options enhance the
cost-effective nature of our services. Additional

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM THE
MEDIATION SESSIONS?
Our initial appointment is for information gathering
as groundwork is laid for your mediation. Questions
and concerns are addressed and we take an initial
step in preparation for the first actual mediation
session.
Subsequent sessions are issue focused and we
discuss custody, visitation and division of both
assets and debt. Each session follows a format so
that we make best possible use of our valuable time
together.
We offer a flat fee which includes all mediation
sessions as well as preparation of the
agreement documents. You will find our price
markedly lower than ANY other certified
mediator or mediation firm in the area!
HOW MANY SESSIONS?
The number of sessions your mediation runs
depends on the complexity of your case and the
level of conflict involved. Generally, you can
expect between three and seven mediation
sessions. The beauty of our approach to billing
at Illinois COST-EFFECTIVE Mediation is that we
are working on a flat fee and not on an hourly
basis. If it takes many sessions to complete the
process, you will not be penalized financially.
HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?
Typically, we run an hour and a half per session.
Quite a bit of progress can be made in that
amount of time, whereas an hour is not enough
time to get a reasonable amount accomplished.
By the same token, running two hours or more
becomes tedious and redundant.
WHAT IF WE CAN'T AGREE
ABOUT AN IMPORTANT POINT?
Sometimes, we will put an issue on the back
burner for a period of time so that there is a bit
more perspective when we do actually try to
make a decision. Additionally, alternative
solutions to sticky issues will be offered by the
mediator in order to look at the problem from as
many vantage points as possible.
